Tap (usetap.com) is modernizing the multi-trillion dollar private fund space. From dams in Sub-Saharan Africa to startups in Silicon Valley, global progress is financed through private funds. The Limited Partners (LPs) that invest in these funds can’t just open their Charles Schwab account and submit a buy or sell order. Tap is building the technological infrastructure to serve the LP secondary market, making private markets more liquid and efficient.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled
Python/Django Developer
with a strong background in
application security
and
DevOps (AWS)
. This role goes beyond just writing code — we’re looking for someone who actively contributes to a collaborative, open team culture and takes initiative to fill gaps when needed. You’ll play a key part in building secure, scalable web applications and driving improvements across the entire software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable web applications using

Python and Django

• Champion

best practices in testing
, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing (e.g., Pytest)

• Integrate

security best practices
into all stages of the development process

• Collaborate with DevOps to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure on

AWS

• Integrate

AI-powered features
into the application, working closely with product and data teams to enhance functionality and user experience

• Proactively step into gaps when needed and take ownership of problems, even if they fall outside your official scope

• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and internal knowledge-sharing sessions

Requirements

• 5+ years

of professional experience in backend development with Python and Django

• Solid understanding of

application security principles
and secure coding practices

• Strong experience with

automated testing
and test-driven development

• Experience building AWS Lambda functions

• Proficiency in

AWS services
and DevOps workflows (infrastructure as code, CI/CD, Docker)

• Interest in or experience with integrating AI functionality into web applications

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, ownership-driven mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS or security certifications

• Experience working with AI tools or APIs

• Familiarity with observability tools like AWS CloudWatch or Datadog
