Job Description

We are seeking friendly, customer-oriented persons to assist East India Kebabs at our farmers market locations. The shifts are as follows:

Metropolitan Park (Tuesdays): S Fern St, Arlington, VA 22202, USA (9am - 2:30pm)

CHoP (Wednesdays): 1300 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20004 (9am - 2:30pm)

Mt. Vernon (1 Saturday per month): 499 I St NW Washington, DC 20001 (8am - 1:30pm)

Bloomingdale (1 Sunday per month): 1700 1st St NW, Washington, DC 20001

This person will receive hands-on training to ensure their confidence. This person will report to the EIK Market Leader and/or EIK leadership, who may or may not be present at the market.

Primary Responsibilities

Greet market attendees.

Interact with customers and answer any questions they may have.

Become familiarized with EIK menu items.

Take and record orders and process payment.

Work diligently and patiently with fellow market workers.

Help set up and break down market materials and space.

Qualifications

Reliably-available for shifts at farmer’s markets

Ability to lift, bend, and stand for the duration of the shift.

Able to sign a 1099 form.

Reliable transpiration to each market.

Desired Skills

Friendly, confident personality with customers and fellow EIK workers.

Dependable and communicative.

Willingness to work outdoors under a tent.

Familiarity with Square payment system is preferred, though not required.

General familiarity with popular Indian cuisine is preferred, though not required.

Compensation

This person will be compensated $17.95/hr, plus tips.

Tips amassed during a market are split equally among market-present employees.

This person may additionally choose to enjoy one hot food item per shift.
