• We enable cEMV tap and go on rail for Transport for Wales

• We provide the ticketing back office for all UK smartcard rail travel

• Our technology powers Transport for West Midlands trailblazing Swift integrated ticketing system, one of the most well-respected schemes in the UK, and the largest after Oyster in London

• We are trusted by 75+ local authorities to deliver their vital elderly, disabled and social concessionary travel programmes for disadvantaged passengers more than 40% of the market. This recently included enabling free travel for 300,000 young people in Scotland

•We are the smart ticketing provider to two Future Transport Zones, which are the Department for Transports dedicated innovation zones• Over 30% of all smartcard terminals in the UK run on Unicard software

• We have approximately 4.5 million cardholders currently under management

• We have received two R&D grants from Innovate UK to develop game changing and disruptive technologies

We are a product-led business using a range of development technologies (primarily Java or full-stack JavaScript) to deliver a variety of frontend products for web, mobile and native apps and a range of enterprise backend data collection and management systems.

About the Role

As a Full Stack developer, you will work within a team of IT professionals (developers, testers, project managers and engineers) in an Agile environment. You will be primarily responsible for the delivery of a Whitelabel Web Application that will streamline our existing web portal.

As part of our web development team, you will work closely with the designers and backend developers to implement a frontend Angular website, utilising existing modules to provide a flexible, responsive solution. You will also be involved in updating the existing AWS infrastructure as code to apply customer-based theming.

This is a contract role for 6 months initially

Accountabilities

• Develop and test user-facing features and backend services

• Build reusable code and libraries that build upon existing systems

• Work in conjunction with product owners and development leads to ensure the technical feasibility of the solution

• Optimize code for maximum speed, performance and scalability

• Take ownership and work at pace

• Resolve blockers and flag up issues quickly

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications

Role Requirements/Dimensions

• 2+ years of experience with Angular

• 2+ years of experience with JavaScript / Typescript

• Experience with HTML/CSS and Responsive design

• Testing frameworks such as Jest / Junit / Cyprus

• Some Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway and CloudFront

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like AWS

• Some CloudFormation or Terraform experience and advantage
