About The Role
We’re looking for a driven and experienced
Lead Backend Engineer
to architect and scale high-performance backend systems that power our core products. If you’re passionate about clean architecture, cloud-native engineering, and building distributed microservices that handle real-world complexity, this is your opportunity to lead from the front.


This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll blend system design, backend development, and mentoring responsibilities. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, reliable, and scalable services that fuel our user-facing applications and internal platforms.


What You’ll Do

System Design & Development
Design and develop backend services using Java and Spring Boot, following industry best practices for clean code and scalable architecture.


Architect microservices with a focus on resilience, modularity, and asynchronous communication.


Develop APIs and backend infrastructure to support high-concurrency, low-latency systems.

Cloud & Kubernetes
Own deployment and scaling strategies using Kubernetes in production environments.


Leverage cloud-native services (AWS/GCP/Azure) for storage, compute, logging, and observability.


Ensure reliability and uptime through effective resource allocation, health checks, and container management.

CI/CD & DevOps Practices
Implement automated CI/CD pipelines for seamless development-to-production workflows.


Collaborate with DevOps to maintain infrastructure as code, secrets management, and security practices.

Leadership & Mentorship
Guide and mentor a growing team of backend engineers through code reviews, architecture sessions, and technical coaching.


Encourage a culture of high-quality software through unit/integration testing, observability, and agile practices.

Monitoring & Optimization
Set up and maintain performance monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.


Continuously optimize backend performance, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.


What You Bring
3–5 years
of backend engineering experience in a high-growth, product-driven environment.


Deep proficiency in
Java
and
Spring Boot
, with an ability to design modular, testable components.


Hands-on experience with
Kubernetes
for deploying and managing services in production.


Knowledge of
Microservices
architecture, including API gateways, service discovery, load balancing, and failover mechanisms.


Strong understanding of
REST APIs
,
distributed systems
,
message queues
, and
event-driven architectures
.


Familiarity with
CI/CD tools
(e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and
containerization
(Docker).


Exposure to cloud platforms such as
AWS

Experience using observability tools like

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions.


Nice to Have

Prior experience in leading or mentoring small engineering teams.
